In 2023 and 2024, the government plans to invest 200 million euros annually in the construction of the second section of the Bar-Boljare highway, stretching from Mateševo to Andrijevica, according to a proposal in the Economic Reform Program. The program is being publicly discussed, and according to it, from 2022 to 2024, 20 million euros will be allocated annually for the construction of the Adriatic-Ionian road, writes the newspaper Dnevne novine.
Both infrastructure projects were mentioned in the Western Balkans Investment Framework, which confirmed its support only for the second highway.
As proposed in the latest EU report, in order for the same support to be provided for the second section of the highway, the cost-benefit analysis financed by the European Union must be completed.
The announced allocations for the second section of the road — regardless of who ultimately finances it — significantly exceed the initially envisaged amount.
