Epidemiological measures have been tightened in Bijelo Polje, Mojkovac and Nikšić and eased in Budva and Tivat. This was announced at today’s press conference by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Borko Baic. The new measures will be in force from March 18 to 24.
Epidemiologist from the Institute of Public Health, Marija Božović, explained that the ban on entry and exit, which applies to the residents of Podgorica, Cetinje, Budva, Tivat, Nikšić, Plužine, Herceg Novi, Ulcinj, Bar, Kotor and Pljevlja, also applies to the municipalities of Bijelo Polje and Mojkovac.
Current epidemiological measures:
- Restaurants, cafes and shops are open from 7:00 to 20:00.
- Curfew from 21:00 to 5:00. Exception – walking pets, but no more than 60 minutes per day.
- It is forbidden to leave the following municipalities: Budva, Tivat, Podgorica, Cetinje, Ulcinj, Herceg Novi, Nikšić, Plužine, Kotor, Pljevlja, Ulcinj, Bar, Bijelo Polje.
- Excursions, live music performances, children’s playrooms, Ferris wheels and amusement parks are prohibited.
- Schools operate online, preschool institutions are closed.
- Wearing masks outdoors and indoors is mandatory.
Important: for Herceg Novi, Ulcinj and Nikšić, the operation of restaurants, cafes, shopping centers, non-food stores, hair salons and beauty salons, gyms and cinemas is prohibited.
Rules for entering Montenegro
Entry into Montenegro is allowed with a PCR test no older than 48 hours, or with a positive IgG antibody test no older than 30 days, or with proof of vaccination with a second dose at least seven days before entry into Montenegro. These rules do not apply to those entering from Serbia, Kosovo, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Albania.
Over the past 24 hours, 553 new coronavirus infections were registered. 651 patients recovered. 18 people died, the youngest was 55 and the oldest 90 years old. The total number of currently active COVID-19 cases in Montenegro is 8,581, which is 1,362 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
5,730 citizens have been vaccinated.
