Montenegro’s highways are ready for the upcoming winter season, reported the Road Traffic Administration. The company Monteput, which manages the route, noted that all necessary preparations for winter road maintenance have been carried out, and traffic on the route will be regular throughout the year.
“The main and regional roads are ready for the upcoming winter season. Uninterrupted traffic is expected, except on roads where the traffic regime has been changed due to construction works. On roads where works are underway and where the traffic regime has been changed, drivers need to follow the rules and obey the temporarily installed traffic lights,” the Road Traffic Administration said.
The length of the main and regional roads under the jurisdiction of the Road Traffic Administration is 1,935 kilometers, which are maintained by Crnagoraput. The Road Traffic Administration reminds that it signed a contract for the maintenance and protection of the main and regional roads with Crnagoraput for a four-year period from 2019 to 2023.
“The contract was concluded in the amount of 37.99 million euros. All necessary preparations for the upcoming winter season have been completed; in the previous period we had good mutual cooperation,” the Road Traffic Administration said.
The administration notes that in the previous period significant financial resources were invested in road infrastructure, so many roads were reconstructed and built.
