Montenegro has remained the only country in Europe where not a single case of coronavirus COVID-19 infection has yet been registered. This was stated by Igor Galich, an epidemiologist at the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro. According to him, Montenegrin authorities are ready for the possible detection of the coronavirus. At the moment, 392 residents of the country remain under observation.
"Coronavirus testing takes two to three hours, so the results become known fairly quickly," Galich added.
According to the latest data, 126,631 cases of COVID-19 infection have been confirmed worldwide, and 4,638 people have died. As reported by Lenta.tu, the majority of those infected and killed are in mainland China, with Italy in second place by number of cases. The outbreak of COVID-19, caused by the novel coronavirus, was first recorded in late December 2019 in Wuhan, China. Its symptoms include fever, rapid fatigue, and a cough with phlegm. In addition to China, cases have been identified in more than 100 countries around the world.
