The Legatum Prosperity Index is published annually by the British Legatum Institute. The study has been published since 2006. Its aim is to examine public well-being on a global scale.
Montenegro is rated best in terms of safety (46th place), investment environment (49th) and governance (50th). In other criteria, the country’s positions are worse: “Personal freedoms” (55th), “Social capital” (73rd), “Level of economic development” (80th), “Health” (91st) and “Natural environment” (105th).
Nevertheless, as local media note, Montenegro is gradually gradually rising in the ranking. Last year it was in 51st place, and the year before that — 52nd.
The index is topped by Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Germany, Luxembourg and Iceland. Russia is in 74th place.
