Bemax has begun paving the Moracica Bridge, the largest and most expensive structure on the Bar–Boljare highway.
Thus, the works on the priority section of the road from Smokovac (near Podgorica) to Mateševo (near Kolašin) are nearing completion. According to the latest data, about 93% of the work on this route has been completed. By the end of this year, the project should be fully put into operation.
In addition to its impressive height, Moracica also stands out for its total width of 23.4 meters and length of 960 meters.
The bridge has five piers, the largest of which is 161 meters high. The span from the bottom of the Morača River to the bridge will be more than 200 meters, which will make it the highest bridge in the former Yugoslavia.
The Moracica Bridge is also the most expensive structure on the future highway — construction has already cost 74.5 million euros.
