A vote of no confidence in the government of Montenegro led by Zdravko Krivokapić was passed by the Montenegrin parliament (the Assembly), the legislative body’s press service said.
The vote was proposed by the republic’s Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović. The initiative was supported by 43 MPs, while 11 deputies voted against it. The voting process was conducted by roll call in an open format. The head of government himself was absent from the session.
Earlier, Zdravko Krivokapić said in an address to the citizens of Montenegro that from February 4 he would be removed from the post of the country’s prime minister, since Montenegrin President Milo Đukanović “had agreed on this with part of the ruling coalition”.
