The state plans to become the main owner of the main seaport in Bar: the other day it bought another 1.13 million shares of Luka Bar on the stock exchange for one million euros at a price of 0.89 to 0.9 euros per share.

According to the publication Vijesti, the government has decided to purchase a new package of shares for a total amount of up to 1.5 million euros at a price of up to 0.9 euros per share. Last week, the government bought 10.4 million shares at the same price, which increased its stake to 74 percent, i.e. by almost 20 percentage points.

Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic said that the government wants to become the 100-percent owner of Luka Bar, as well as Port of Adria, in order to reunite the port capacities into one company.

“The government's intention is not to put minority shareholders in an unequal position, but to ensure equal treatment for all bidders, with full transparency of the procedure, as before, and for the state to determine the further strategic development of the port as an important infrastructure object and driver through increasing its ownership stake in the economic development of Montenegro.
