After mobile roaming costs in the six Western Balkan countries were reduced by more than a quarter two years ago, they will be completely abolished on Thursday, July 1, 2021. This was provided for by the previously signed agreement of the six Western Balkan countries. After that, roaming charges with EU countries should also be lifted.
The leaders of the Western Balkan countries agreed to reduce mobile roaming costs three years ago, and in April 2019 signed a regional agreement. It provides that the Western Balkan six — Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia — will reduce these costs by 27 percent in the first stage from July 1, 2019, and completely eliminate them from July 1, 2021.
Some operators have already lowered service prices.
The countries of the Western Balkans signed the agreement under the auspices of the EU.
