Current epidemiological measures in Montenegro will be in effect for the next two weeks, said the Director of the Institute of Public Health, Dr. Igor Galić, at a press conference.
“We are not currently thinking about closing Montenegro to tourists, but we are monitoring the situation, and the measures will be adjusted accordingly. In particular, the current measures will remain in effect for the next two weeks,” Galić said.
Current epidemiological measures in Montenegro:
– masks indoors – visiting discos, nightclubs, and indoor restaurant areas is possible only with a vaccination certificate, a PCR test, or proof of recovery from the disease no older than 180 days.
To enter Montenegro, it is necessary to present one of the following documents:
- Vaccination certificate, at least 14 days must have passed after the second dose - Negative PCR test no older than 72 hours or a positive one taken at least 14 and no more than 180 days ago - Rapid antigen test no older than 48 hours
For children under 18, compliance with the above conditions is not required.
Current infection rates
There are 354 patients in hospitals in Montenegro due to Covid-19 infection or its consequences. This is about eight percent less than two weeks earlier, said the Director of the Clinical Center of Montenegro, Ljiljana Radulović.
“The largest number of patients is in our Clinical Center. At the moment, we are treating 126 patients. Eighty percent of them are unvaccinated. Our hospital data confirm all global scientific studies, which show that immunization in most cases protects against the development of the most severe clinical pictures,” Radulović stated.
At the moment, Montenegro has more than 375 thousand vaccine doses. Of these: Sinopharm — about 250 thousand, Pfizer — more than 80 thousand, Sputnik V — 40 thousand, and AstraZeneca — about five thousand.
