The Parliament of Montenegro lowered the retirement age by one year. The authorities adopted a draft law amending the Labor Law, which provides for lowering the age threshold from 67 to 66 years to qualify for old-age pension and it will come into force at the beginning of next year.

41 deputies voted for the amendments to the law, while four abstained.

Now, from January 1, 2022, the reduction of the dismissal limit from 67 to 66 years will apply. The amendments to the law will enter into force on an urgent basis.
