In the first six months of 2021, 99 permits for construction were issued in Montenegro, providing for the construction of a total of 324 housing units (houses and apartments), which is the lowest volume in the past ten years, the statistical office reports Monstat.

In the same period of 2020, construction permits and applications for the construction of 973 housing units were issued, and in previous years this number usually ranged from one thousand to 1.6 thousand housing units.

Throughout 2019, the construction of 1,580 housing units was approved, in 2018 — 2,339 units, in 2017 — 4,439 units, in 2016 — 3,005 housing units.
