In Montenegrin households, more than a third of money goes to food, and the least to culture and education

The largest share of spending in Montenegrin households is on food — 37.1% — and utility expenses (housing, water, electricity) — 15.1%. This is followed by spending on clothing and footwear — 9.8%, transport — 9.1%, communications — 6.1%, health — 4.9%, furnit...

The largest share of expenses of Montenegrin families is made up of food expenses — 37.1% and utility costs (housing, water, electricity) — 15.1%.

Next come expenses for clothing and footwear — 9.8%, transport — 9.1%, communications — 6.1%, health — 4.9%, furniture and interior items — 4.4%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco — 3.4%, restaurants — 2.6%, education — 1.3%.

These are the results of a survey by the Monstat statistical office, which was conducted in the period from February 1 to January 31, 2022. A total of 1,333 households in Montenegro were surveyed.
