According to the law on the observance of religious holidays, Catholics are entitled to paid leave for Christmas and Christmas Eve: Friday, December 24, Saturday, December 25 and Sunday, December 26.
New Year is celebrated on Saturday, January 1, and Sunday, January 2. Since the second day off is Sunday, the first non-working day will be the following day, which means that the second non-working day will be Monday, January 3.
Orthodox believers are entitled to paid leave for Christmas and Christmas Eve: Thursday, January 6 (Christmas Eve), Friday, January 7 (the first day of Christmas) and Saturday, January 8 (the second day of Christmas).
“State bodies, local self-government bodies, public institutions, public companies and other entities engaged in activities of public interest are obliged to ensure the performance of activities on public holidays, the interruption of which may have harmful consequences for citizens or the state,” said the ministry.
